NEWSLETTER 2 TERM 2

29 August, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians & children,

I’d like to extend a warm welcome back to all our parents, children and staff after the 3rd lockdown.

I would like to thank all our parents and children for adapting to this new ‘normal’ way of life and for continuing to adhere to Covid 19 protocols.

As you aware C.A. tests have been conducted. Children are now preparing for their mid-year exams to be held in September 2020.

Condolences: It is with immense grief we wish to inform you the passing away of our office staff team member Ms Gomolemo Tshotlego on Saturday 18th July. She was laid to rest on Saturday 25th July at Mmopane. She will be missed by all of us at Letlhabile. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family during this time.

Registration for new admissions 2021:   Kindly note that registration for new admissions is now open. Parents seeking admission for their child/children for next year must register early to avoid disappointment as seats are limited.

Uniforms: Kindly note track suits of all sizes are available in the uniform shop. We request parents to buy all uniform with the school logo only from the school.

Independent Transporters: We would like to inform all parents that buses/combis transporting children are independently owned. We would like to request parents to ensure that the transporter they choose to engage has proper permits to transport children and that there is a conductor to monitor children in the vehicles to ensure that children are safe and picked up and dropped off safely.  We request parents to inform their individual transporters to only stop at designated halts in order to avoid any mishap. Children should also be asked not to get off the combis before reaching their destination.

Mid-Year Exams: The mid-year exams will commence from Friday 18th September to Friday 25th September 2020. Please assist children with revision and home work as the mid-year results are a precursor to the end of year exams.

Kindly continue to work in partnership with the school so that children are assisted both at school and at home to excel in their studies.

Standard 7s are working hard in preparation for their Mock examinations to be held from Monday 24th August to Friday 28th August 2020.  PSLEs will commence on 12th October 2020.  The examination time tables have been given out.  Kindly keep them safely for easy reference when required.

End of Term 2 & Start of Term 3: Kindly note the last official day for term 2 is Friday 11th September 2020. Term 3 officially starts on Monday 14th September 2020.

School will be closed for Botswana day on Wednesday 30th September, Thursday 1st October and Friday 2nd October 2020.  Children will return to school on Monday 5th October 2020.

School calendar:  Kindly note term 3 CA test dates, examination dates and all other important dates for the rest of the year will be conveyed through our newsletters keeping in view of the current ‘new normal.’
